Gold Leaf, Copper Leaf, Aluminum Leaf, and Metalic Paint
Welcome to the world of metal leafing. Metal leaf is actual metal. It is a very thin foil, and a special glue called size is used to adhere it to a painted surface. Metal leaf can come in any metal, but the most common is composition leaf, which is a gold-colored metal leaf that is a combination of aluminum, copper and a few other metals. Real gold is occasionally used, but at this time, it is extremely expensive. Metal leaf always looks better than metalic paint, and only costs a little more!
In this portfolio are a few examples of metallic paint. I generally use Nova Colors paint, which is extremely durable and high quality acrylic paint.
